Writing your Ancestry Story so it will keep forever and never get lost again is our pleasure.
You have spent months if not years researching your ancestry and now you wonder what to do with it. You have a lot of information that needs to be preserved. You now know your ancestral line, their attributes and courage, and some of the difficulties they faced. You may now understand things a little better as their social and cultural context comes into focus. You may even have begged, borrowed or stole some precious photographs that were been kept under someone’s bed or in a bottom drawer.
Creating your ancestry story
Creating a story from your gathered information and working with you is what we love to do. Printing your story in a beautiful hard cover book that will be cherished and read by future generations is what motivates us. Understanding our past is such an important part of our future.
We think of modern times as belonging to us with our instant communication technology, fast cars and the entire world live in our homes through the media and information technology. Our ancestors considered they lived in modern times with what was available to them and it was equally as wondrous and marvellous. I remember when my grandmother had the first telephone connected in our area – it was an eight person party line connected by an operator. How could my grandmother ever consider that nearly every person would carry around a mobile device that would run their lives? Perhaps the question should be how can a young person today ever consider that there was a time when there was no electronic communication at all.
I never knew who I was like in my family until I found my great great grandmother and there she is, just like me.
It is important not to let information get lost as it helps us understand who we are. Recently I was handed a genogram of my husband’s family, a very detailed and thorough one but a diagram of birth dates, marriage dates and death dates never the less. I had no idea of the details of my husband’s family and now that is lost forever.
Work together to preserve your ancestry story
Let us work with you to convert your data and gathered information into a story that will be treasured for generations. Throw in some of those treasured photographs and maybe some information on your current family and social context for comparison and you will have created a wonderful treasure.
We do not do the research but we are happy to work with you or your nominated researcher to build a story based on your facts.
We are not a publishing house. We are content writers, who listen to your story, write it up and have it printed.
